Before getting into the car and driving to Valerie’s school, Ben splashed some water on the crotch of his pants. In a conversation with Huffington Post, Ben shared that the secret to cheering up his daughter was to make her laugh!

“To be honest, I realized she was embarrassed, but I figured if I could get her to laugh, everything would turn out okay.”

This was definitely going to work!

As soon as Ben entered the principal’s office, he requested to borrow Valerie’s backpack. He softly whispered to his daughter that he needed to conceal something. Initially, Valerie was puzzled about why her dad wanted to hide anything!

Then she glanced down and noticed his pants.

Ben shared with Huffington Post that the instant Valerie spotted his pants, everything felt right. She gained the confidence to stand up and walk out of the school with assurance.

“She was completely frustrated. However, once she noticed my pants, I received that look from her that assured me everything was fine. All dads recognize that look I’m referring to. And we casually walked out of the school as if nothing was amiss.

All Ben needed to do as a dad was to drive to the school and collect his daughter. Wetting his pants with water was the additional measure he took to ensure she wouldn’t feel embarrassed by something that many kids go through.
