When Chaz Bono, the son of music icon Cher, wed his longtime partner Shara Blue Mathes on March 8, 2026, the occasion resembled a scene from a film. For Chaz, 57, the wedding represented the pinnacle of a relationship that started over 40 years ago. He and Shara first crossed paths as teenagers at the Lee Strasberg Theatre & Film Institute. Although life led them down separate paths for many years, they ultimately reconnected and formalized their relationship in 2017.
Reflecting on their journey, Chaz shared:
