Visitors heading to Hedonism II in Negril, Jamaica, usually know they’re not signing up for a typical Caribbean beach holiday. Since 1981, the resort has been promoted as the ‘world’s best sex hotel,’ and it has built its reputation on being a clothing-optional paradise for adults who want to push boundaries.The resort offers everything from dungeon-style playrooms to workshops that teach oral sex techniques. Guests can freely wander nude around six pools, spend time in the famous nude hot tub, or stroll across the designated nude beach area.

In recent years, the resort has also introduced a sex-themed fitness space. This came about through April and Scott Shirley, a couple from Alabama who run Naughty Gym, a gym that mixes exercise with intimacy and sexual openness. Since 2023, they’ve been hosting their own unique health and wellness event at Hedonism II, blending workouts with erotic-themed sessions.Scott, 53, who has been married to April, 47, for five years, explained to The Sun: “We’ve tried to bring, for our workout week, a little less of a focus on the parties, even though we bring educators from all over the world to come in and talk about different sexual topics and relationship issues.”

“Some of them are vanilla issues about dealing with jealousy or communication, and then some of them are as X-rated as demonstrations on how to give good oral sex.”April went into more detail about the setup: “During our week, we have a sex therapist who comes in and she will have classes on how to implement better techniques. And they’ll have a person that they are demonstrating on.”

“This is in a place called the Kama Sutra Palace. It’s a building and there are mattresses in there.”

Scott pointed out that not everyone comes for the late-night parties. For those who prefer to stay on the sidelines, there are plenty of private spaces and more relaxed areas both during the day and at night.

He explained that for guests, the whole experience “can be as mild or as wild as you want it to be.”According to him, the resort draws people from all around the globe. He noted that “every country is represented,” with even a few Brits joining in.

April added: “It attracts people who are looking for a release from their everyday life, tucking in who they really are. They can come here, and they can have really open conversations,”
