$20 Painting Of Jesus ‘Leaking Mysterious Sticky Substance’ Has People Believing It Can Heal Cancer

A simple $20 Jesus print from Hawaii is now drawing global attention for something that seems beyond explanation.

 

 

It’s rare for a second-hand religious painting to become the center of worldwide attention, yet that’s exactly what happened with a $20 picture of Jesus and Mary.What began as a simple bargain-bin find in Toronto, Canada, slowly turned into a story spreading faster than the resin it’s said to leak. Over time, what seemed ordinary became a mystery people around the world are now fascinated by.

The image, a paper print of a centuries-old Orthodox icon, was purchased more than 15 years ago and now hangs in a small Russian Orthodox church in Honolulu, Hawaii.

 

 

Lately, it has been gaining attention again, but this time not because of its age or condition.At first, locals thought it was just another case of Hawaii’s humid air damaging cheap paper and frames. But when parish priest Father Nectarios Yangson took a closer look, he realized something wasn’t quite right.

He shared the experience in a letter to his parish, writing: “During the last week of September, I began to notice an unbelievably strong smell of myrrh, at home, in my car, even at work. I couldn’t explain it,” He continued by saying: “We were afraid. We asked one another if we had recently cleaned or anointed the icons, and both of us said ‘no.'”

What he noticed next made many believe they were witnessing something divine — a bead of fragrant oil forming on the baby Jesus’s left knee. The clear, sticky liquid, which Father Nectarios and others identified as myrrh, the same resin mentioned in the Bible, appeared to seep from the image with no visible source.According to the New York Post, photos and video later captured the substance pooling under the frame and soaking into the cloth beneath it.

Witnesses said the smell was so strong and sweet, like roses, that even the priest’s cat stood on its hind legs to get closer to the scent.

 

 

 

Since that discovery, people have been flocking to the Holy Theotokos of Iveron Russian Orthodox Church, hoping to witness what they’re calling a miracle.Many believe the oozing myrrh has healing powers, with some claiming it has cured blindness, paralysis, chronic pain, and even cancer, as Father Nectarios mentioned in his original letter.

 

 

The Russian Orthodox Church officially recognized the “Hawaiian Iveron Icon” in 2008 as a miraculous image and granted Father Nectarios permission to travel with it to churches worldwide. Since then, he’s brought the icon to more than 100 churches across the United States and Europe, where millions have gathered to see it.Father Nectarios said: “Some days have been completely dry, while on other days they are covered in myrrh. Yet whether they stream or not, they continuously give off an extremely strong scent of roses.”

The priest added: “It is truly a great miracle! I sometimes wonder if it is a warning.”
