Erika Kirk was left visibly emotional after an old recording of her late husband, Charlie, was played, introducing her on stage.
On Wednesday (October 29), during a Turning Point USA event at the University of Mississippi, the widow was introduced by a past recording of the late right-wing influencer calling her ‘the best mom in the world,’ ‘hero,’ and ‘love of [his] life’.
Backstage, Erika, dressed in a white tee with the word ‘Freedom’ – similar to the one Charlie wore on the day of his assassination – was seen softly crying, wiping away her tears as she prepared to take the stage.

The Emotional Recording
The footage was shared by Kirk’s former Chief of Staff Mikey McCoy on X, who wrote in the caption: “Erika Kirk, CEO of TPUSA, takes the stage at Ole Miss to honor her husband’s legacy and introduce the Vice President of the United States of America.”
The online response was overwhelmingly supportive, with many viewers commenting on her strength.
One user wrote: “I cannot imagine how difficult this must be for her. What a strong & courageous young woman. God bless & protect her and all of TPUSA.”
Another said: Incredibly powerful moment. Honoring his legacy while moving forward shows true strength.”
Charlie Kirk’s Assassination and Erika’s Leadership Role
The founder of TPUSA was tragically shot and killed during an event at Utah Valley University on September 10.
Tyler Robinson, the 22-year-old accused of the murder, has been linked to the crime through DNA evidence and text messages.
Despite the immense grief, Kirk’s wife has stepped up to take on his role as CEO of the organization, committed to continuing his work.
As the new leader, she spoke about honoring her husband’s legacy and pushing forward with his ideals.
“The answer to hate is not hate,” she said at Kirk’s memorial in September.
“The answer we know from the gospel is love and always love – love for our enemies and love for those who persecute us.”

Tyler Robinson’s Trial
The man accused of killing Kirk is awaiting trial, where he will face charges of murder and attempted political retribution.
Authorities say Robinson turned himself in at a sheriff’s office in southwest Utah, more than three hours from the scene of the shooting.
According to Utah County Attorney Jeff Gray, a note found by investigators suggested that the suspect viewed the attack as an act of political retribution.
“He wrote to his partner that he had the opportunity to kill one of the nation’s leading conservative voices, ‘and I’m going to take it,’” Gray told reporters, as per Global News.
Robinson remains on suicide watch at the Utah County Jail, where he is constantly monitored and required to wear an anti-suicide smock, a thick, tear-resistant garment designed to prevent self-harm.
