Miami woman allegedly lured man to $15,000-per-month condo via Instagram – then robbed him with 2 others

A 30-year-old Florida woman has been arrested after reportedly luring a man to her luxury apartment so she could steal from him.

Nicole Cano, of Miami, is facing charges of false imprisonment and strong-arm robbery after inviting her victim to her condo in Biscayne Bay on the evening of April 11.

Fox News report that Cano asked the man on Instagram to come over and “have drinks”, setting a sinister plan in motion. When the victim had arrived at the $15,000-per-month apartment, he was issued through to the balcony, before two other women emerged from a bedroom and confronted him.

The three women are said to have demanded that Cano hand over his valuables, including money.

The unidentified victim told them he didn’t have cash and tried to leave the apartment, only to be told by the women that he was “going to pay”.

A struggle ensued, in which a gold chain belonging to the victim was ripped from his neck. He managed to recover the chain, but a $300 gold cross pendant was taken by the women before he was able to escape the apartment.

“They tried to get his gold chain,” Miami Police Officer Michael Vega told NBC 6.

“They were not successful. But, they did take a crucifix that he had on his chain that was valued at over $300.”

The affidavit states that the victim fled the condo screaming for help, before calling the police.

He was later able to identify Cano in a police photo lineup. Cano was arrested on Monday, May 4 and taken into custody at Turner Guilford Knight Correctional Center, Miami, Florida.

Authorities have stated that Cano admitted to having initiated contact with her victim on social media, but she denies robbing him.

If convicted of strong-arm robbery, Cano faces a potential sentence of 15-years in prison. She could face five years behind bars and a $10,000 fine should she be found guilty of false imprisonment.
