Denise Richards Shares How OnlyFans Changed Her Career With Help From Husband

Denise Richards, known for her role in Wild Things, has opened up about how starting an OnlyFans account, with support from her husband Aaron Phypers, has shaped her acting career in unexpected ways.

She first rose to stardom through roles in popular shows and movies like The World Is Not EnoughFriendsBlue Mountain State, and Two and a Half Men. But in 2022, Richards took a different path and decided to join the content subscription platform OnlyFans, diving into the world of independent digital content creation.

The 54-year-old actress was encouraged by her daughter Sami, whom she shares with actor Charlie Sheen. Sami joined the platform at 18 and found success. Seeing how financially rewarding it could be, Richards followed suit. Just a few years later, she’s now among the platform’s most popular creators.

In the March 25 episode of her series Denise Richards & Her Wild Things, she shared: “I will say that I’m in the top one percent of creators on OnlyFans, so I am very grateful. It’s very empowering, especially for someone my age, that people still want to see me that way.”

Richards also talked about how much help she receives from her husband, Phypers, whom she married back in 2018. He’s very involved behind the scenes, often helping her by taking photos for her OnlyFans. She added: “He’s so supportive. He knows what men love, and he’ll go through all the photos and say, ‘This is good. Do this. This is what guys like’.”

Even with her husband’s full support, Richards admitted she was nervous at first. She feared joining the platform might affect her acting career in a negative way.

But as it turns out, the opposite happened.

She went on to say: “When I joined OnlyFans, I was very concerned that I possibly could lose some jobs, but it was the opposite. I got more offers. I get roles where I’m like, the trophy wife or the sexy one.”

Unfortunately, not everyone has had the same experience. Richards noted that her daughter Sami has had a tougher time, facing more challenges and judgment because of her decision to join OnlyFans.

During the episode, Richards explained further: “I really want to get headshots done to transition into modeling. I’ve met with a couple agencies, and they don’t like that I do OnlyFans. It’s so frustrating because it’s like, that’s how I pay my rent. If you’ll take me seriously, I won’t have to do it anymore.”

She pointed out what she sees as a clear example of society’s double standards and questioned: “Why judge based on them trying to make a living while they’re trying to pursue their career?”

Despite the criticism, both Richards and her daughter continue to be supported by a loyal subscriber base. Beyond just posting content, Richards says she values the platform for how it allows her to engage directly with her audience.

“People think that I’m just doing whatever — that’s not true,” she explained. “I actually look at it as a way of communicating with fans, and not the way that you’re thinking.”
