Project Hope Foundation is partnering with the Lander University School of Nursing to provide students with hands-on training while helping children with autism become more comfortable with medical appointments.
Nursing students make weekly visits to Project Hope Foundation’s Greenwood campus, helping clients practice different aspects of a doctor’s appointment — including sitting in the waiting room, stepping on a scale, getting their temperature and blood pressure taken, having their eyes and ears checked — and tolerating a stethoscope touching them.
