Autism Awareness Prom Night creates safe and fun environment

CADDO PARISH, La. (KTAL/KMSS) – Caddo Sheriff Deputies and the D.A.R.E. team hosted a special prom night aimed at promoting Autism Awareness, providing resources, and creating a safe environment for attendees.

The department says the event was filled with fun, laughter, and lasting memories for all involved.

Organizers focused on ensuring that individuals who typically may not feel comfortable in large gatherings due to safety concerns could enjoy the festivities.

Community members, support groups, and volunteers worked together to create an inclusive atmosphere, making sure that everyone felt seen and supported.

Thanks to the dedicated efforts of deputies, chaperones, school staff, and volunteers, the prom was not only enjoyable but also secure.

The event was made possible through the generosity of Princess Park staff and sponsors, including SPAR, Caddo Parish Parks and Recreation, and Dillas Quesadillas.

A special thanks was given to the JROTC unit for presenting a Sabre Arch, as well as to cheerleaders from local schools and the drumline for their contributions to the royal ball.

This successful prom served as a testament to the community’s dedication to fostering a supportive environment for all.
