Michael Madsen, known for his roles in “Reservoir Dogs” and “Kill Bill,” spoke about the tragic loss of his son Hudson. Hudson passed away from a gunshot wound to the head, which was reported as a suspected suicide, in January 2022, as stated by the City and County of Honolulu Department of the Medical Examiner.

At the time of his passing, Hudson was just 26 years old.
The family shared the heartbreaking news in a statement to Metro, saying: “We are filled with grief and sorrow over the loss of Hudson. His memory and spirit will live on in the hearts of everyone who knew and cherished him. We kindly request privacy and respect as we navigate through this challenging time.”
At that moment, they chose not to provide further comments, urging the media to honor their need for privacy.

Later, Madsen shared his feelings regarding his son’s death in a statement to The Los Angeles Times.
“I am in shock because my son, with whom I spoke just a few days ago, expressed that he was happy — my last message from him was ‘I love you dad,’” the 64-year-old actor remarked.
“I didn’t notice any signs of depression. It’s incredibly tragic and heartbreaking. I’m just trying to comprehend everything and figure out what went wrong,” he added. “He faced the usual life challenges that many people do with finances, but he desired a family. He was optimistic about his future, so it’s truly mind-boggling. I just can’t understand what occurred.”

Madsen, on the other hand, is reported to think that his son encountered difficulties after enlisting in the army, as he faced ridicule for seeking therapy for his mental health concerns.
Hudson completed one deployment to Afghanistan from August 2018 to January 2019 while he was based at Fort Carson, Colorado.

Hudson was married to his wife Carlie, and based on their social media, the couple resided in Hawaii. Madse mentioned that his late son’s marriage “was going strong.”
We deeply regret the loss. Rest in peace, Hudson.
