Megan Moroney Channels Dolly Parton’s Iconic 1978 Playboy Cover
Megan Moroney stole the spotlight this Halloween with her flawless recreation of Dolly Parton’s legendary 1978 Playboy cover.

The rising country star nailed every detail — from the black strapless corset teddy, bunny ears, and bowtie to the feathered heels and even the slightly eerie Easter Bunny prop from Dolly’s original shoot. Moroney added a retro filter to her photos, perfectly capturing that vintage late-’70s vibe.
The post quickly went viral, drawing reactions from fellow country stars. Kenny Chesney joked, “We could have gone as Kenny and Dolly. Haha,” while Logan Crosby commented, “u icon u.” Fans flooded the comments calling the look “iconic.”

Dolly’s original Playboy cover debuted in October 1978, making her the first country artist ever to appear on the magazine’s cover — fully clothed and entirely on her own terms. Decades later, in 2021, Dolly famously recreated the look at age 75 as a birthday surprise for her husband, Carl Dean, saying, “He still thinks I’m a hot chick after 57 years and I’m not gonna try to talk him out of that.”

With her tribute, Megan Moroney’s Halloween 2025 look proved that true style — and a little Dolly sparkle — never go out of fashion.
