The legendary celebrity-filled camp Down Under might appear a certain way on screen, but the reality is pretty different.
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here! returned for its latest series over the weekend and the stars seem to be settling in all right.
They’ve already started opening up about their personal lives and sharing anecdotes from their careers – with many viewers only just learning of Ruby Wax’s mad interviews in the past.
We’ve got quite a mixed bag of celebs this year too to watch suffer through trials and chat away in camp with the likes of Aitch, Jack Osbourne, Alex Scott and Kelly Brook in the line-up.
But really, the ‘jungle’ we think they’re sat away eating rice and beans in isn’t quite what we think as it’s said to be ‘fake’ with a roof over it.

And while you might think this ruins the whole nature of the celebs really being in a camp with the bare minimum and struggling through, it’s obviously for a pretty understandable reason.
Sure, they aren’t battling the same grey and cold weather as we are in the UK right now, but it’s not like it never rains in Australia either.
The show is filmed out in the Springbrook National Park in New South Wales, close to the Queensland border, and torrential rain is quite a possibility. I mean, there’s been many series of the show where they’ve gone through days of it, making things even more grim.
So, the I’m A Celeb camp has a special secret roof to help shield both the campmates and all the vital recording equipment that’s essential for the show itself.
Plus, it’s used to help do the iconic lowering down of food for when the campmates have bagged meals for camp in their Bushtucker Trials.

Although, an insider previously told the MailOnline: “A lot of the camp is not under shelter – it’s not like the roof at Wimbledon,” adding that the roof doesn’t even necessarily cover the beds that they sleep in.
But to really break the illusion, the National Park where I’m A Celeb is filmed isn’t even classified as a ‘jungle’ but actually a ‘lowland subtropical rainforest’.
I mean, it’s close, but still.
Alison Hammond previously confirmed that there’s a shelter too, as she said on the Saving Grace podcast: “No, you can’t [sunbathe]. There’s trees everywhere and also they’ve got this canopy for lighting.
“You feel like you’re on a camping film set but you can’t see the cameras.”
I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here! is available to watch daily at 9pm on ITV1 & ITVX.
