Throughout her career, Stone has appeared in more than 60 films. She has taken on romantic roles alongside major names such as Michael Douglas in Basic Instinct, Billy Baldwin in Silver, Sylvester Stallone in The Specialist, and Robert De Niro in Casino.
However, her working relationship with Baldwin has not remained smooth. She previously claimed that a producer once suggested she sleep with him to improve his performance, which sparked tension between them.
The exchange only added more attention to their past working relationship and made things feel even more awkward.
With that history in mind, it is not surprising that Stone did not name Baldwin when asked about the best on-screen kisser she has worked with.
“Oh my god. He’s the best kisser in the business,” she said while speaking about the well-known actor.
Looking back at filming one of their scenes in Casino, Stone explained: “I remember the day that we did this scene where I have to go to the bathroom and, because I play this hustler, I get him to give me money to go to the bathroom.”
The moment between the two actors was so convincing that it even caught director Martin Scorsese’s attention. Although he felt the scene worked, he still suggested doing another take, possibly because both actors seemed fully immersed in the moment.
“Marty cut, and he looks at us and goes, ‘I think we got it but would you guys like another one?'” Stone said. “And we both looked at him and went, ‘Yeah, I think maybe we need one more.'”
“I learned more from working with Robert De Niro than I think I probably learned all together in my entire career,” she shared in an interview with E! News in 2024.
She also spoke warmly about director Martin Scorsese and the rest of the cast, highlighting how meaningful that experience was to her: “I love working with Marty Scorsese, and my relationship has stayed very much intact.”
Her recent comments also come after she spoke about how she feels regarding modern film scenes that focus heavily on physical intimacy. She explained that she often chooses to skip them when watching movies today.
“When sex scenes come on TV, I fast forward,” she said while speaking to Gayle King. “I don’t want to see it. I don’t want to have to go through all of this blatant, harsh sexuality. For me, it steals from my own imagination. And I prefer my yearning, mystery, desire. I want to keep that alive inside myself.”
