SOUTH BEND, Ind. (WNDU) – Indiana is pausing signups for new autism therapy providers, a move state officials say is meant to strengthen oversight and address rising costs.
The pause was announced Tuesday and is set to last at least six months starting Saturday.
Because there’s been confusion about what the change does (and doesn’t) mean for families, Alissa O’Hara, Senior Director of Clinical Operations at LOGAN Community Resources, Inc., joined us on 16 News Now at 4 to walk viewers through what to know.
In the interview, O’Hara discusses why the pause matters, what families currently receiving services should expect, and what it could mean for those trying to begin therapy. You can watch the interview in the video player above.
