Sarah Jessica Parker’s son, 23, drops photos as mom calls him ‘handsome’

Sarah Jessica Parker and Matthew Broderick’s son has grown up – and his recent photoshoot is making waves online.

As one of Hollywood’s most lasting couples, Parker, 61, and Broderick, 64, have spent years managing life in the limelight while nurturing a family away from the public eye.

Recently, the Sex and the City actress and her husband marked 29 years of marriage after tying the knot in 1997.

“May 19th, 1997-May 19th, 2026. 29 years. And counting. Here’s to you my darling. Forever young. Xxx, Your wife Sarah Jessica” Parker wrote in the Instagram post that featured photos of the couple from years past.

The touching tribute provided a look into the couple’s nearly three decades together and the family they have created along the way.

Five years after Parker and the Ferris Bueller’s Day Off star exchanged vows, they welcomed their first child, James Wilkie, and later expanded their family in 2009 with twin daughters, Tabitha Hodge and Marion Loretta Elwell.

Despite their celebrity status, the couple has mostly kept their children out of the spotlight, choosing to allow them to develop their own identities away from the fame.

Following in their parents’ footsteps

However, that doesn’t mean James Wilkie hasn’t picked up his parents’ passion for performing.

A year ago, Broderick shared with People his excitement about working alongside his son for the first time in an episode of Elsbeth.

“I was so proud and happy to work with my son James,” Broderick expressed in the January 2025 interview. “Collaborating with everyone on Elsbeth was a joy, and I can’t wait for the episode to be released.”

At 22, James Wilkie was equally thrilled about the chance.

“What a thrill it was to work side by side with my dad – who also happens to be my favorite actor!” he shared. “The entire experience of working on Elsbeth was incredibly exciting, and I am very thankful to the producers for this opportunity!”

Maintaining family privacy

Even with both parents firmly rooted in Hollywood, Parker has kept…

During her acceptance speech for the Carol Burnett Award at the 2026 Golden Globes, she honored Broderick and their children while providing a rare insight into her personal life.

“To my cherished family, my wonderful husband Matthew Broderick, who has been my partner for nearly 30 years,” she expressed. “He has granted me a family discount, an all-access pass to his masterclass in acting, comedy, and commitment.”

She then shifted her focus to her children.

“And to the family we have created. Our amazing James Wilkie, Loretta, and Tabitha, oh my. I love you all so profoundly and truly admire the individuals you are becoming. Every single day, both at home and at work, I strive to make you proud.”

Ready for his moment in the limelight

Now, it appears that James Wilkie is growing more at ease with stepping into the spotlight himself.

On June 1, a graduate from Brown University showcased a collection of captivating portraits from a photoshoot with musician and photographer Brad Walsh.

Walsh mentioned that these photos will be featured in his forthcoming book “FELLA: Images of men,” which is a compilation that spans over twenty years of photography, highlighting various types of men – primarily everyday individuals – along with actors, singers, models, and other notable cultural figures.

“So dope!! Thank you [Brad Walsh],” James Wilkie wrote in the caption of the Instagram carousel, which included a striking black-and-white portrait of the young Broderick wearing a tank top, followed by multiple images of him posing against a wall while showcasing his muscles.

His mother was among those who admired the photos, expressing her delight in the comments section.

“Ah handsome. And happy. Xxx, mama,” the star of And Just Like That… commented.
