Fans of Wheel of Fortune were left puzzled after a recent episode showcased a food-themed puzzle that many believe simply didn’t make sense. The debate arose during the broadcast on September 24, despite one contestant walking away with over $55,000 in winnings.
The episode featured three players: Megan Baldwin from Bossier City, Louisiana; Jaz Rackley from Las Vegas, Nevada; and Edwin McKinney-Hartsfield from Round Rock, Texas. Baldwin, a former athlete who has endured nine broken bones throughout her career, kicked off strong by solving the first toss-up puzzle. McKinney-Hartsfield quickly followed by solving the second.

After a round filled with bankrupts, Baldwin managed to earn $2,000 by solving “Lily & Crash Pad.” Rackley, a certified personal trainer, gained some momentum in the Mystery Round, racking up $5,100 and briefly taking the lead. However, the focus soon shifted to a puzzling question that left both players and viewers scratching their heads.
The controversial moment occurred in the “Rhyme Time” category. The answer was revealed to be “Fine Wine & Good Mood Food.” Baldwin solved it for a trip to Argentina and $13,815 in cash, but only after the puzzle was almost fully revealed. Fans watching from home were not impressed.

Social media exploded almost immediately.
“WTF? Good Mood Food?” one Reddit user questioned.
“That was impossible to solve,” another fan commented.
“Seriously! That is not a thing,” one user complained, while another confessed they thought the answer was “Good Wood Food.”

However, not everyone felt it was unfair. One viewer remarked, “I’ve actually heard that phrase before. The show has had weirder expressions.”
Even so, many long-time viewers believed that the puzzle tested the boundaries of fairness, with some labeling it as one of the most perplexing solutions they’ve encountered on the game show.
Regardless of the criticism, the game continued. During the Triple Toss-Up round, Baldwin managed to solve one puzzle, while McKinney-Hartsfield claimed the other two. Rackley concluded strongly by solving “Buffalo Cauliflower” for $1,600, bringing her final total to $6,700. McKinney-Hartsfield finished the evening with $6,000. Baldwin moved on to the Bonus Round with $15,815 already accumulated.
For her final challenge, Baldwin chose the category “What Are You Doing?” Her boyfriend and son watched eagerly as the board unveiled more letters. With the assistance of her selected letters—G, C, D, and I—she focused on the board as it displayed:
_EING R _CTI_E

Initially, she guessed “Being Productive.” However, just in the nick of time, she changed her answer to “Being Proactive”—the right solution. That crucial solve earned her an extra $40,000, raising her total winnings to $55,815.
Fans online quickly congratulated her for the remarkable comeback.
“Good solve!” one YouTube user exclaimed.
“What a solve!” another chimed in.
Ultimately, Baldwin walked away with cash, a trip, and bragging rights—while viewers continue to debate whether “Good Mood Food” should be included in the Wheel of Fortune playbook.
